Our story
We’re a modern casual diner in the heart of Calgary’s Beltline, named after the streetcar that once ran down 12th Avenue SW in the early part of the last century. Our menu is built around local, seasonal, artisanal and handmade ingredients, and we focus on fresh, playful takes on classic diner fare.We serve breakfast, brunch and lunch in a fun, approachable setting, with coffee to go, housemade pastries and snacks, and a signature Beltliner blend from Calgary Heritage Roasting Co. We’re part of the Starbelly Group of Restaurants and aim to offer serious cooking without taking ourselves too seriously.

Laurie O'DonnellHad a great experience at the Beltliner! I ordered the salmon advocado Benedict and it was absolutely delicious! Perfectly cooked and really fresh. Kyle was our server and gave us amazing service from start to finish. He was friendly, attentive and made us feel very welcome. The energy and atmosphere in the restaurant was warm and upbeat, which made the whole experience even better. Overall, a really positive visit and I'd definitely come back. Thanks Kyle!
Blair JamiesonFor the cost they could have added flavour, other than yuck and mouth numbing sour. When we sat down we were quickly informed that there was a time we had to be out by, in a half empty diner on mother's day.
Terry RossHad great meal and service here today. We went with Fried Chicken Bennie and the Fried Chicken Waffles just to make sure we covered the bases... we weren't disappointed and the food was great. Impressed with the service too - definitely recommended.

The service was great because I changed my mind last minute and she let me change it no problem. My mom had the classic Benny and I had the breakfast poutine. Amazing! I want more breakfast poutine now.. hahaha!
Nhae CThe meal was delicious. The service was satisfactory. The ambiance is appropriate for a casual hangout, but nothing exceptional, and the pricing are on the high side. I ordered the chicken and waffles but compared to other restaurants who serves brunches, I think the food lack some colors or its missing something on the way it was plated. The gravy is too watery/runny. It should be a little thicker.

I visited the Beltliner with a friend for brunch and had a lovely time. It was forecasted to be rainy so we very much appreciated that they took our reservation the afternoon before as it took the guess work out of our planning. The food was good but portions felt a bit small. Their cappuccino and matcha lattes were flavorful, and the service was very nice.
