About

Con Giannoulis immigrated to Canada from Greece at age 17 and began in the restaurant business at the bottom, later rising to executive chef and eventually owning his own restaurants. He co-founded Caesar’s Steak House in 1972 and has long championed Alberta beef, working with the restaurant’s supplier since his earlier days as an executive chef at another steakhouse in the late 1960s.

You must order Caesar as drink as well as Caesar salad here which they are famous for. They prepare the dressing in front of you from scratch which was a great experience.

The steak was the best and also this steak the waitress had to cook in front of us, by our table, which was really cool. It was like a little show!

We started with the table side Caesar salad for four., and he made it perfectly. We then had our mains, mine was the smaller ribeye which was cooked to perfection (medium rare) as were the rest.

Sergei, our waiter, was so kind and attentive. He brought an extra salad bowl for my mom to have a petit portion of salad to try when the other 3 of us ordered it.

We got seated immediately along the wall up the stairs, great seating away from folks for two people. Service was incredibly friendly, especially our waitress. I got the filet mignon with wild rice and baked potato and my husband got the rib eye.

This is a place that goes back to the 1970s... In the heart of Calgary, lost in time, preserved and doing just fine. Old and dated interior, tons of staff, over the top polite service...loved it all !!

The steak Diane flambe was a highlight. We were too full for dessert, but shared a complimentary birthday treat.
