Excellent Food, Insulting ServiceI chose this restaurant for my birthday dinner of 8 because I appreciate a cozy local business, but the service from our waitress, Chung Q., was so insulting and unprofessional that it completely overshadowed the meal.We waited nearly a month to write this, but after meeting with our friends weeks later, everyone was still upset by the way we were treated. Here are the facts of our experience with Chung Q.:• Ageist & Condescending Remarks: As we arrived, she acknowledged that we were celebrating a birthday and said, 'At this age, it’s rare to celebrate a birthday. We had a nice meal overall, and the food continues to be the highlight. The mushroom is a must (10/10), the sea bass is always amazing and something I look forward to every time, and the veal tortellini was excellent. The escargot was also good, just not something I’d personally order again.Service felt a bit off compared to what we’re used to here. We had to ask about the specials (which are usually shared right away, especially the mushroom and sea bass), and our server seemed rushed and not very attentive. The mushroom came with little sauce even though there was more on the plate - we had to ask for the rest. (Don’t miss out on it all!) He also didn’t check in on us during the meal.That said, he was friendly so it may have just been an off night. This has been a longtime favourite spot

The best pasta we’ve ever had! We aren’t from Calgary but we’re going to be in town for my wife’s birthday and she wanted pasta, so we asked a couple people we knew that lived there and they both suggested Villa Firenza and it did not disappoint! We highly recommend and we can’t wait to get back and eat there again.

We celebrated a birthday tonight. I am so happy we chose this legendary restaurant for our night out. The food was authentic, full of freshness and flavour. I had the sea bass special. The fish was so tender and the pasta was incredible! We shared the portobello mushroom appetizer which was stuffed and served with the most decadent sauce ever. The service was incredible. With the wait staff as busy as they were, we had the pleasure of being taken care of by one of the owners. Despite being busy, she went out of her way to talk to us about the restaurant, the family history and her life in Calgary. This restaurant was voted one of the best Italian restaurants by Avenue Magazine…a well deserved recognition. Thank you for a lovely evening!

Our most recent visit was a wonderful lunch! The chef out performed even my high standards and delivered multiple courses which were amazing! The owner and her staff are gracious and accommodating . For wonderful authentic Italian food, there is no better restaurant in Calgary! The wines were unctuous and left you wanting more ! Thank you for a truly memorable experience
