Our story
We’re a family-run restaurant in downtown Calgary, serving pizza and gluten-free pizza since 1981. Located one block from the Calgary Tower and a short walk from the Saddledome, we offer dine-in service, downtown delivery, catering, and private upstairs events with a rooftop patio.For more than 40 years, we’ve focused on fresh, hand-picked ingredients and a mix of traditional and modern recipes. We’re proud to serve Italian-style food made from scratch, including our house special, Caesar salad, lasagna, and cheese strips, along with our gluten-free crust created for family members with gluten allergies.
Meet the chef
Michael Batas started working in restaurant and hotel kitchens as a young teenager in Cyprus before continuing in restaurants and nightclubs in Australia. He settled in Calgary and used that experience to open Michael’s Restaurant in May 1981. The restaurant later passed to his son John, who runs the operation with his mother Helen.

ItsyourgirlDeeThis pizza was absolutely outstanding. A more deep dish pizza Vibe with lots of cheese. Lots of toppings. They definitely weren't short on the toppings. The Greek salad had a wonderful feta cheese on top. Everything was absolutely perfect. Our server was wonderful. We sat upstairs and the indoor restaurant. Definitely will be returning

Happy SidhuNot knocking the place but it's just a very mid pizza granted I got pep and cheese with extra cheese nothing fancy but I feel like for 16$ I would love it but I'd almost rather get a Domino's. The cheese is excellent but yeah maybe I'll get another type next time. Pizza was very quick just 15 min to come out

There was just something special about it that no other place has been able to match for me.You can really feel that it’s a family-owned restaurant through the way they treat people. The service was always so warm, welcoming, and genuine, and they consistently made me feel like more than just another customer.
