Our story
We have been serving Calgary since 1998, established by Japanese chef Matsumoto and shaped by more than 30 years of experience in Japanese kitchen work. At Hana Sushi, we focus on traditional Japanese sushi making, careful fish handling, and friendly service.Our Mission location offers an a la carte menu in Calgary, while our Sirocco location features an all-you-can-eat option with iPad ordering. Across both locations, we aim to deliver fresh sushi and attentive service built around our guests.

Matsumoto is a Japanese chef who established Hana Sushi in Calgary and has over 30 years of experience in Japanese kitchen work. The restaurant says he has infused traditional Japanese cooking into every step of sushi making since 1998.

Valentyna VasianovychEvery time we have such a nice dishes and service here. Tonkotsu Ramen Black is amazing. Portions are really huge and hearty. And also we love their rolls. We're highly recommend this restaurant.

Dinner on a busy Friday night. We had a reservation, which was likely unnecessary as it appeared many arrived without one and were seated. Table spacing which was good and not always found in sushi restaurants so we could talk easily without feeling those around us were also participating.

I stopped in for lunch the other day, it was excellent, fast friendly service and the sushi was fabulous. The sashimi was excellent, generous portions. The Double Happiness roll is great. Everything was fresh, clean, well prepared. I will eat here again.

Was looking for a quick bite on a sunny patio and stopped at Hana - was not disappointed! $10 gets you a bento box (weekdays for the lunch special). A variety of maki rolls for under $7 as well which is seemingly hard to find in the city. Service was prompt and friendly and they got my order just right. Found a new regular sushi spot on 17th!
