Our story
At Italiano Please!, we are a family-run social enterprise in Calgary serving authentic Roman cuisine with a purpose. Our story began after the family arrived in Calgary in February 2021, introducing the city to Roman food at the Triwood Farmer’s Market before opening a downtown brick-and-mortar location later that year. We later expanded into our current space at Amec Place as demand for our food and mission grew.We create an inclusive culinary experience rooted in authentic Roman cuisine. At least 50% of our team comes from equity-deserving communities, including people with disabilities and members of the 2SLGBTQ+ community. Through paid training and work experience, we aim to help people build a pathway toward long-term employment, while welcoming guests to enjoy honest Italian flavors, Roman street-food traditions and a sense of belonging.

Chef Lucio Petrini is the Culinary Director at Italiano Please! He is committed to preserving Italian culture and Roman flavors, bringing an authentic Italian culinary perspective to the restaurant's menu and kitchen.

MingFinally get to try this place. I had their Friday lunch special - lasagna + salad combo. Salad was okay only, but the lasagna was absolutely amazing.They are also an inclusive employer - fantastic to see!

The dining environment is warm and simple. They also have a stamp card, and you can choose to keep it yourself or let the restaurant keep it for you, which is really cute.
The prosciutto sandwich was so authentic and so so good. For the price, I don't think you can get anything like it nearby. Such a gem of a spot.
I am an Italian living in Canada and I am always very picky and careful about the products I eat. This place has great, Italian, fresh ingredients. When an Italian cooks you can taste the difference.
I eat here weekly, and it never disappoints. The owners are fantastic people: warm, welcoming, and always friendly. Their freshly baked bread is amazing and the lunch specials are great and a good price for downtown.
This is the most authentic Italian food I've had, home away from home. True Italian flavours, the pasta sauces are amazing. I recommend their Roman pork jerky coppiette, a delicacy!
