I enjoyed the ambiance of this restaurant, especially the lovely winter and Christmas décor. The bar seating offers a good view of the TV, which was playing sports during our visit. We were seated in a tucked-away corner, which was perfect for us.The menu has a nice variety of options. The pastas were excellent—we tried the carbonara and the ravioli, and both were rich and creamy. The appetizers were just okay, and the New York steak was decent.I did feel unusually thirsty afterward, which makes me wonder if the dishes were a bit heavy on MSG.

Had lunch at Merchants recently with friends.As usual, it was a wonderful experience.Merchants is conveniently located in Marda Loop on 33 Ave SW.The staff is always very friendly and accommodating, and the food and drinks have always been great whenever we visit.On this day, we shared an appetizer, the calamari, and we shared a couple of pizzas, the Maui and the Margherita pizza. Both pizzas were fantastic.On this particular day, we sat at the bar where we were served by the bartender/waiter, Wisdom who was awesome and made a great wine recommendation to us.Parking can sometimes be a challenge in this area, but on this day, we all found convenient spots in the parking lot out front, but I have had to occasionally find street parking as this wonderful spot can sometimes get busy during cer

Absolutely fabulous restaurant with amazing food and lively, upbeat and trendy atmosphere! Service (provided by Alyssa) was fantastic and timely, even though it was very full. Will definitely visit here again! Highly recommend the calamari, one of the best ones in the city!

My friend's food choice was better than mine. I didn't like what I ordered but that is a preference thing and I didn't want to complain. It's a nice place, great atmosphere.

Delicious pasta, reasonable prices and a nice atmosphere! It was a little bit loud coming from the lounge side and a bit chilly sitting by the outside wall but I would go back (and request a booth) for the Roasted Mushroom Ravioli!

Great spot! Server was kind, attentive and helpful. Tomato buratta salad was delicious.

We were here right at 11 so it wasn’t busy yet. Fantastic service, great atmosphere and delicious food. Had the special, a blackened salmon sandwich, and the carbonara which was perfect!

Stopped in on a holiday Thursday night before the hockey game. Nice booth and great atmosphere for a date night. We had delicious mussels and calamari. Happy hour Pinot Grigio and drafts were excellent. Service was attentive & quick. We will return!

We had a great lunch here at Merchants! The gluten free pizza was super good and the smoked meat sandwich was delicious! We definitely will be back again when we're in town! The drinks were also all amazing. Highly recommend checking this spot out!

We went to Merchants for our anniversary dinner with our daughter and had a lovely evening. Merchants is a casual restaurant with friendly staff and a congenial atmosphere for couples or families. We shared the calamari, which was excellent, for starters. I had the salmon, nicely done and well presented. My husband had a steak, one of the best he has had recently. Our daughter was pleased they had gluten pasta.

Merchants is a great spot to eat in Marda Loop. High quality food and drink offerings. Prompt, friendly and attentive servers. A very nice change to the main chain restaurants.
