Moxies Grill & Bar (Sandman Calgary) is a super convenient option if you’re staying at the Sandman Hotel Calgary City Centre. We had no issues getting a reservation and were even able to arrive a bit early.Service was friendly and attentive throughout. We tried a few dishes including the smashed avocado dip, blackened shrimp tacos, beef short rib dip, and a cheeseburger with fries. Everything was cooked properly and tasted pretty decent—solid, reliable menu choices that hit the spot after a long day.There was one small issue with a dirty glass when we ordered bottled water, but it was handled quickly and professionally, and the charge was removed without any hassle.The only real downside happened after we left, when I received a notification saying I didn’t show up for my reservation. A massive thank you to our waitress, Kayda, and our cook, Geordan. They went completely above and beyond to ensure our meal was prepared safely with zero cross-contamination.What We Ordered (and Recommend!):Plant-Based Burger with Baked Fries: Kayda and Geordan specifically made sure the fries were baked rather than fried to avoid any cross-contamination from the shared fryer oil. Blown away. Three ladies decided to have a birthday lunch here because it was just a convenient meeting place. But wow, it WAY MORE than that. We were warmly welcomed and treated like gold by Alicia. She went above and beyond to make that the loveliest birthday luncheon I’ve had in probably my entire life lol! We all enjoyed our food immensely. Mine was a plant based bowl that was so delicious I’m still thinking about it. There was utmost care given to my friend who has a food allergy. Braiden our server, looked after our every need and kept things flowing perfectly. Comfy booth and very nice atmosphere as well. It’s nice to see the improvements to the happy hour experience for this downtown location. The white chocolate brownie is still a must-have. Kylan provided welcoming, friendly, and attentive service. Top notch.
