Really fun and interesting cocktail bar in Calgary that has an interesting concept of mixing two ingredients that don’t seem to go together into a delicious cocktail.The drinks were well made and despite the weirdness, all super delicious.Service here is wonderful as well, they took the time to walk us through items and gave us recommendations based on our drink preferences.Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area!

Visiting from Montreal, we found Shelter online and decided to check it out. The atmosphere was nice and dark, intimate, and with a true speakeasy vibe.What really stood out was the service. We ordered a drink that turned out not to be our taste, and Ryan kindly removed it from the bill, which was greatly appreciated. He then took the time to chat with us, learn what we liked, and crafted a couple of cocktails that were absolutely spot on.Ryan also recommended some great places to visit around Calgary and even gave us a Shelter token as a souvenir. Outstanding hospitality, excellent cocktails, and a memorable experience all around.We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in Calgary! 🍸✨

Had a drink there on a Tuesday night a month back, I am breaking all the rules that the Gym coach tell me what not to do,No heavy eating, no late eating, no alcohol after gym class,,,,,,but I really need one, - Of course the body listening to the craving instead of the coach's disciplineAnyhow, it was around 8:30pm, surprisingly I am the only guest in the dining room that vary evening, so I got all the attention - Spoil me please !!!Their menu is very straight forward, few pages of the cocktails, wine, liquor, and one page of the snackCocktail is very creative, bar snack is on the,,,,I cannot say average, but I mean for a bar that size, how creative of the food can you be?? - I think they fullfill all the Check mark of what that kitchen can produce and make it appealing - It's not an easy

For the only cocktail bar I was able to come to while visiting Calgary, I’m glad it was Shelter. ◡̈The decor is really unique; whoever set the masks up clearly had attention to detail with the variation of designs.The bartender (I think Ryan according to the receipt)and chef/cook were really friendly. They even gave me recs on bars and restaurants in Banff where I was heading to! The bartender even asked me where I was heading to before recommending me one last drink—super thoughtful. Ryan, Zaren, and Paulina are the absolute best servers/bartenders you could ask for! They will do everything they can to make you feel welcome and informed about the menu The atmosphere of this bar is very chill and homey even when busy. Some of the best cocktails in the city :)

Shelter is such a cool bar with intimate seating, great food and drinks but what puts it over the edge was the incredible service. Zerind was amazing, while bartending, serving, running food and hosting he provided excellent service. I wish they had closed the blinds to give a darker atmosphere but would definitely recommend this place

One of my absolute favorite cocktail bars in the city. I’ve been coming here for years and it’s always been solid, but hosting a private event here last week was next level. This space is beautiful, moody, and perfectly set up for a great night.

Very fun small cocktail bar with delicious and creative drinks and a small but mighty kitchen with fresh tasty options. Honestly we love the vibe and personal service. Awesome staff overall, but special shoutout to Ryan, #1 bartender and just a great dude.
