Our story
We’re bringing back the lounge with a space reminiscent of a sophisticated 60’s lounge and an eclectic basement atmosphere. At The Wednesday Room, we welcome guests for upscale sharable plates, creative cocktails, wine, beer, and a relaxed dining experience in downtown Calgary.Our venue is designed for both everyday dining and special occasions, with flexible event spaces that can host intimate gatherings and larger celebrations. Guests can enjoy happy hour, late-night beverage service, and a setting built for great times to remember.
Meet the chef
Chef Derek Wilkins started his career at Rouge Restaurant working under Chef Mike Dekker. During his three-year term, he worked his way up from prep cook to sous chef. He later worked in multiple venues and was chef de cuisine at Workshop before bringing his fine-dining experience and focus on sustainability to The Wednesday Room.

Teresa S.First visit and already five stars all around. Amazing food, great ambiance, and excellent service! The place had a great vibe and relaxing. William our waiter he was top notch - he was attentive and provided excellent service through the night. All the food we ordered were unique, delicious, fresh and best part - they were all shareable. We had an opportunity to try everything we ordered. Unforgettable and highly recommend. Definitely worth checking out!
KarysEntered from Stephen Ave and were seated in the basement( which I think is the place to be). The basement feels like you've stepped into another era with a strong mid-century vibe: geometric carpets, globe lighting, and exposed stone foundation walls where plaster has been peeled back. The couch seating was incredibly comfortable and the fabrics & carpeting keep the room quiet, so you can actually enjoy a conversation. With no windows, it feels like a cozy little world for the evening, helped by the low lighting and table lamps. The food was good, portions are small, so ordering several dishes to share works well, and there were some gluten-free options. Service was friendly and attentive

annika kVery intimate vibes here. We came in for a late night snack & night cap and loved it! We got the tuna carpaccio which was was presented so uniquely on the plate! The drinks were okay - definitely unique but not as tasty as we expected.
