Habesha restaurant is a really fun cultural outing in Calgary. When we walked in, we felt like we were in Addis Ababa. The restaurant is very popular and when the food came, it was delicious. The portions are excellent and the variety is well worth the cost. For a group of 3 to 4 we recommend the mabirawe platter. It is a sample of some of our favourite Ethiopian dishes. You can ask for the kitfo to be cooked. Highly recommended. In busier times the food does take a bit of time to come but it is well worth it.

First time trying Ethiopian food and decided to try this place based on the other reviews and very happy we took the chance.The food was delicious and fresh. We thought the spice level would have been higher but it was still good.The server was friendly, attentive and helpful in making a decision on what would expose us to the most options on one plate. The service was great as well and good valueThe atmosphere of the restaurant was a bit smoky because there was some burning of something on one of the tables. It wasn't terrible but some people might be more sensitive to it than we were.I would definitely recommend this restaurant and would go back to try some of the individual plates.

My name is Christin, I came with my family and today was my second time visiting Habesha restaurant. Once again, the food was absolutely amazing! We ordered the Habesha combo and traditional coffee with milk and it was perfect—full of flavor and beautifully prepared.Julie, our server, was incredibly sweet, respectful, and polite. She made our experience even more enjoyable and attentive service. She is the best waiter I ever seenThe food did take a little longer than expected to arrive, but it was definitely worth the wait. Overall, we had a great experience—the quality of the food, the service, and the respect we received were all outstanding. I’ll definitely be coming back!

We are out of town, so we asked friends for the best Ethiopian restaurant in Calgary and this was their top pick. We ordered the Habesha tips and kitfo. Even though we waited almost an hour, the food was absolutely worth it.

I absolutely love Ethiopian cuisine. I used to go to Marathon in Kensington and Fassel in Forest Lawn, so I was really sad when both of those restaurants closed. I’m so happy to have found Habesha. I’ve been there twice already and I will definitely be back.
