Habesha restaurant is a really fun cultural outing in Calgary. When we walked in, we felt like we were in Addis Ababa. The restaurant is very popular and when the food came, it was delicious. The portions are excellent and the variety is well worth the cost.

The food was delicious and fresh. We thought the spice level would have been higher but it was still good. The server was friendly, attentive and helpful in making a decision on what would expose us to the most options on one plate. The service was great as well and good value.

We ordered the Habesha combo and traditional coffee with milk and it was perfect—full of flavor and beautifully prepared. Julie, our server, was incredibly sweet, respectful, and polite. She made our experience even more enjoyable and attentive service.

We are out of town, so we asked friends for the best Ethiopian restaurant in Calgary and this was their top pick. We ordered the Habesha tips and kitfo. Even though we waited almost an hour, the food was absolutely worth it.

I absolutely love Ethiopian cuisine. I used to go to Marathon in Kensington and Fassel in Forest Lawn, so I was really sad when both of those restaurants closed. I’m so happy to have found Habesha. I’ve been there twice already and I will definitely be back.
