Ari! I’ve been on the hunt for a sushi spot in Calgary that offers higher-end quality without requiring omakase prices - a fine balance, I know.We made a reservation for a Saturday, which I would recommend as the tables were full and they had to turn a walk-in group away.Although I still have a couple more places to check out before a final decision, my belly was very very happy with the o-toro at Ari. Most of the pieces were great quality, especially the hamachi, salmon, and scallop. The tako wasabi was delightful, they add sesame oil to it which is an interesting twist. Only negatives were that although the ika and ebi are better than other places, they still had that creamy end taste that is off-putting for me.We loved the fried shrimp head, even though it kinda messes with the order of

Oh my God, this place is so good.It’s quite small, so I’d recommend coming right at opening time or making a reservation in advance. But the food quality is absolutely worth it.Everything tasted incredibly fresh and delicious. I also really liked their lunch sets — they include different kinds of sushi and sashimi, so you can try a variety of items at once instead of ordering everything separately.Definitely a place I would come back to again.

The sashimi was fresh and cut into perfect sizes, making it easy to enjoy gracefully. Our server was really professional and suggested we start with the Dinner Special in that order. The crispy roll was amazing, 10/10! Crispy on the outside with creamy filling. I wanted another one before I even finished it! The Tempura Shrimp was a nice surprise; they were juicy and fresh! Sometimes tempura can be greasy, but these were done just right.Visited twice already and I’m already looking forward to the third time!

It was okay!We didn’t really have a liking for the two speciality rolls we tried surprisingly, The seaweed salad was oddly really fishy.garden salad was good, good dressing.Cajun roll and spicy salmon roll were good. Unagi was good. Nothing was outstanding though!Service was slow. Took awhile to get an order in. Forgot we ordered no wasabi then fixed it, no biggie. Forgot we asked for low sodium soy sauce, had to ask the chef to get the waiter attention to remind them. No a biggie but just wouldn’t go back personally. Nothing dramatically bad, just Food and service both weren’t a “wow that was great!” Experience.Didn’t take photos of everything just a few things sorry review readers!

Our new favourite sushi spot in Calgary! The sushi and food is super fresh and the service here is excellent. We went for lunch and they had a great selection of lunch specials, food from their menu and individual pieces of sushi and sashimi. Definitely recommend sitting at the bar to experience seeing the talented sushi chefs at work. We can’t wait to go back!

Mike and his team run the best sushi restaurant in Calgary IMO. Best balance of incredible quality, awesome service and good value. I have tried 10+ places, but I don’t go anywhere else when I’m in town but Ari anymore.

Ari has been our favorite sushi restaurant since it first opened. We absolutely love the food, the atmosphere, and the exceptional service. We recently took my boyfriend’s daughter there to celebrate her graduation, and it was the perfect choice.

Friendly, helpful staff and delicious fish. Some items are pricey but it's worth it to splurge on good sushi.

Ari Sushi is a fantastic Japanese food spot in Calgary! I ordered two lunch sushi specials and one lunch sashimi special, and everything was fresh, beautifully presented, and absolutely delicious. The fish was high quality, portions were generous, and the lunch specials were great value.
