I usually do not prefer vegetarian when I am eating out, but this place absolutely surprised me. A limited but a very delicious menu. Everything that we ordered was excellent. The hotpot. Sweet potato veggies, hummus with pita, drunken noodles (which tasted great the next day as well), drinks and the spicy tofu rice bowl, there wasn’t a single item that we ordered that we could fault even a bit. The cheesecake at the end was the highlight.Neeraj was so accomodating and explained every dish to us and recommended what would taste the best. I am already raving about this place to my friends and colleagues.Thank you for your wonderful hospitality and mouthwatering food. I look forward to visiting you again.

Quickly becoming my favourite spot in downtown! Had come for the YYC Hot Chocolate Fest and was so impressed by their 'Beet the Cold' hot chocolate (beets! who woulda thought)! Ingenuity and charm through and through. Came back again for their 22 year anniversary lunch– amazing from start to end. Got the borscht, loaded sweet potato, drunken noodles with the mushroom medley & tofu add-on. Ended with the ube cheesecake upon the server's recommendation. Not usually a fan of ube but this dessert was absolutely delicious. Having a dairy intolerance has sadly limited my dessert options, so this made me happy :)All in all, the Coup offers the exact kind of food I look for– cut through the bullshit, straight from the earth. Service was good, seated relatively quickly and requested another seat as the smell of the washroom pervaded the whole space.Although the restaurant was pretty empty, food was served up very slowly and some dishes were cold on arrival, we also noted that other tables which were seated later were served first.Menu descriptions are very aspirational and food simply does not deliver anywhere close to delicious in spite of the good reviews. Not sure how this was rated Calgary's best.Their kale salad and soup of the day (lentil/carrot) were still relatively good, but the other courses were disappointing. Always great service and food at the Coup! Highly recommended

The host was super nice! We celebrated just getting married and he had a table setup for us with a heart candle! The food was delicious! We will definitely be back next time we are in Calgary!
