Recently visited Babylon Cafe on Denman Street and honestly had such a great experience. The location is amazing — just steps from English Bay beach, making it the perfect place to grab food and relax after a walk by the water.We tried their shawarma platters and they were absolutely delicious. The portions were generous, everything tasted fresh, flavorful, and very authentic. The chicken was perfectly seasoned, the rice was cooked really well, and the sauces added so much flavor to the meal. You can definitely tell they focus on quality and presentation.Their drinks and cocktails were also really good and added so much to the overall experience. I’ve been dining at Babylon Bar and Restaurant for many years, and it continues to be one of my favourite spots in the city. Located right on Denman Street near English Bay Beach, it’s the perfect place to sit, relax, and soak in the view and the incredible Vancouver ambiance.One of the things that truly sets Babylon apart is the owner. He’s often outside engaging with the public, welcoming guests personally, and you can immediately see how passionate he is about his food and his restaurant. He recognizes me every time I come in and treats me like family — that kind of genuine hospitality is rare and speaks volumes.The service is always top notch — warm, attentive, and authentic. My husband and I tried Babylon for the first time this week. They have an extensive menu with options for everyone. We both ordered the falafel appetizer and they were phenomenal. The falafels had the perfect crispness and amazing flavor! Also, the portion size was huge and they’re served with delicious sauces and pickled veg. I couldn’t believe the affordable prices too! We got 6 falafels each for only $9.50!! We also tried the green lentil soup, which had amazing flavor! It appears to be a family run business, and everyone was super kind and welcoming. They also have a beautiful location overlooking English Bay. I’d highly recommend stopping by! We left very full and happy!

I walked along Denman Street this afternoon and passed by Babylon Restaurant. They had a waitress standing outside inviting people to come in and eat. As I walked by, a man wearing glasses who looked like the manager or owner was standing nearby with his arms crossed, watching the interaction and giggling. It made me feel really uncomfortable. It seemed like their business wasn’t doing well, and they were trying to attract customers this way.

As a vegetarian, I really appreciate how accommodating they are. On my last visit, he made me a crispy-style falafel wrap with fries, and it was absolutely incredible.

Great location in English Bay. Saw the recomendation on You Tube to try this place out. They did not disappoint. I had the chicken shawarma plate and asked for extra crispy. Great portions and flavour. Recommend.

I always stop by with my kids fir shawarmas. The place is very small and unassuming but the shawarmas are delicious and cheap. Friendly staff too :)

We were walking past this café and a lady outside was offering free tasting of the chicken meat. It was really good so we bought 2 chicken kebabs. They had lots of filling in them and good value for money.
