Ever since the owners sold to this business the subs have not been the same, bur still good and so I kept returning. Until today, it appears that they changed the chicken. I ordered my usual sate chicken and the pieces were all wierd and thin, almost like a thick deli meat. The meat was flavorless and very tough and dry. Its very disappointing. The service was great but I'll have to find a new place for vietnamese subs because that chicken was awful.

I ordered a satay chicken binh minh and was quite disappointed at the lack of chicken and the bun wasn't great.It sounds like from the other reviews this is a common issue. You may want to contact the old owners to conduct an audit to see where exactly the issues are. The customers gave their feedback and I understand there may be other internal issues (cost, inflation, business related issues etc). Please listen to your customers. Hopefully, things are fixed soon because I would love to see new owners succeed in chinatown and keep this tradition going. Unfortunately, I won't be coming back anytime soon because of this experience.

I used to love this place but it was very clear to me the owners changed (I had first noticed new people working). Everything else looked the same and the sub more or less tasted the same but it was seriously lacking on meat. One thin layer of meat and little to no sauce/mayo and not many veggie toppings. I also had to pay extra for cheese which was only one small slice and didn’t cover the whole sub, it was previously always included.Unfortunately it doesn’t do a business any good to change things when they take over. I certainly won’t be back and will search else where for a good sub. Sorry guys :(

I'm from Toronto, visit Calgary for work on occasion. I've had many a banh mi in my life, including fancier ones from all over the place in the GTA. I was incredulous at the start rating--could it possibly be that good? Listen, it is. GO. Life-changing artwork is being made here. Ate one outside on a stoop for lunch, then went back inside for another one so I could skip dinner. Just wow.

I’d actually like to give them 4.5 or 4.75 out of 5, but I mean it makes no difference. I’ve been an on and off regular since 2002 and this was always my favourite place for Vietnamese subs. I haven’t been around for the last few years so I did not know about the new owners but I have nothing but good things to say about them. Nothing will ever beat the Nguyen family’s subs which is the 5/5 rating for me but come on….the originals can never be duplicated and more often than not fall very short of expectations when someone new comes along, still these subs in my opinion just as amazing, great flavour, good helpings, fresh ingredients, sauce is still awesome, and the price is more than fair! I’ve been an on and off regular since 2002 and this was always my favourite place for Vietnamese subs. I have nothing but good things to say about them. ... still these subs in my opinion just as amazing, great flavour, good helpings, fresh ingredients, sauce is still awesome, and the price is more than fair! Great sub for me, I see people complaining about meat, but there was more than enough on mine. And they made it no issue to give me more. I said no thank you, very commendable service! I recommend this place!
