Our story
Born in Calgary and opened in 2004, we’ve spent two decades building Cleaver around honest food, consistency, and a dining room where strangers become regulars. Our philosophy is simple: great food is about craft, honesty, and the care that goes into every dish.We pair bold flavors with handcrafted cocktails and a lively 17th Ave atmosphere, offering a stylish patio, social dining, and a bar built for relaxed afternoons or late-night gatherings. We also host private events and group dining, with custom menus and drinks packages available on request.

Thomas MoAte here a little early on Tuesday. It was pretty dead, even when we left at 7pm. We each got a cocktail - mine was really nice. Boumi was a good server. We split the parm fries, gyoza, chicken wings, pork belly, bruschetta, and calamari. All were great. Chicken wings were a bit small but that’s fine. Nice to see a happy hour go until 6pm. I’ll come back for dinner another time.

I have been to Cleaver several times and it has always been excellent. The service has always been good despite the restaurant usually being packed. And Cleaver has one of the best happy hours in the area with $5 cocktails/wine/beer and $3 sliders before 7pm and after 9pm.
