While visiting Calgary for a business trip, I had a sudden hankering for some Korean food. Fortunately, Stone Bowl was a quick 10 minute walk away. Upon walking in, I immediately felt like I was transported back to Korea with the seating arrangement, self-help water station (much preferred for people like me that drink a lot of water), the K-pop music playing in the background, the warm welcome from Kim and Sarah, and a genuine taegukgi (Korean flag) from the Korean War (SUPER COOL, see picture).The beef stone bowl was one of the best I have had in North America (no joke) and reminded me a lot of my time in South Korea. The ratio of meat, rice, and vegetables were spot on and the marinade on the meat was so good. The egg was cooked perfectly with some runny yolk. And the cherry on top was

This is one of the best Korean restaurants I have ever been to. The food is actually so good and very filling, We had no wait time and sat right away the person who served us was very kind and friendly, considering we came at near closing time it was a shock to me they didn’t seem to mad about it. When our food came out it was hot and looked very good, they also gave us free dumplings and kimchi which was very kind of them . The wait time for food was like under 5 minutes which is very quick to me . If you are hungry or just want a bite you should go here. A True hidden gem.

This was the best dolsot bibimbap i had in canada. The spicy pork was to die for, full of flavour.This is a family-owned restaurant, the owners were really hospitable and friendly.We were on a short trip to calgary, with a full-day tour, otherwise we would have ate this every single day in our canada itinerary 🥹

I ordered the stone pot bibimbap and also paid extra for the No. 2 soup option.The food was absolutely delicious, and the owner and staff were very friendly and welcoming.I would definitely visit again.

Overall an amazing place to go. The place is family owned, and its nothing short of amazing service. The food was amazing, however i do wish there were more options. Be careful as the bowls they serve your food in is exteremly hot. Owner was super nice and helped me when paying (i had to figure out cash with multiple people it was quite confusing). Bathroom is well kept and nice, overall amazing place and super easy to get to from the train station.
