Chef Mikko Tamarra is the chef-owner behind Fortuna's Row in Calgary. Avenue Calgary notes that his menu draws inspiration from Mexico, Peru, Colombia, Brazil, Chile, and other Latin American regions, and that he draws on cooking experiences in Mexico and Peru. The restaurant also identifies him as the chef behind its private dining and event menus.

We came for a special occasion. The dishes we had were presented family style where everyone shares the dishes and you try whatever you like. We had someone in our group that follows a pescatarian diet, another that has lactose sensitivity and another that has an allergy to peppers. Special substitutions were brought out for each person depending on the course that was being served.

We had the chef's tasting menu. Brilliant. Cocktails, probably in my opinion the best in town. Decor and interior amazing. Atmosphere fantastic.

I went as a the only vegan in a large group for a work event and was a bit nervous if there was any vegan options when looking at the menu in advance. Man, was I blown away with how amazing the staff were at accommodating me! The flavours were outstanding, the service was fantastic and I enjoyed every vegan dish.

I recently visited Fortuna’s Row and had the Bistec con Huevo — and honestly, it was a great experience. The steak was cooked perfectly, tender and flavorful, and paired really well with the eggs and crispy potatoes.

We had the best dinner at Fortuna’s Row. The food was exquisite, and every dish was equally as amazing as the next. We loved how everything was served in courses so we had time to enjoy the flavours of what was in front of us before moving on to the next.

My wife and I have been to Fortuna’s Row before, but this was our first time trying the brunch menu, and it was amazing! There was a nice mix of chef inspired dishes, as well as some brunch staples that were refreshed with Fortuna’s signature flavours. We’ll definitely be back for brunch, and the ‘Ugly Cornbread’. Trust me, you want to order it!
